The American Studies Association invites members to post and browse working proposals for panels and papers for the annual meeting in order to collaborate with interested colleagues. You can use this space to help facilitate:

  • Panels forming in need of OR open to accepting additional panelists;
  • Individual papers in need of a panel; or
  • Ideas for a panel to gather contributors.

You and your collaborators are responsible for designating submitter duties, finding a chair, etc. Submitting fully composed panels are an excellent way for established scholars and graduate students alike to find and network with other members. In the recent past, acceptance rates for pre-packaged sessions have been much higher than individual papers, which not only need to pass the test of excellence but also must fit with other individual papers to form a panel with internal coherence. Additionally, as space is limited at the 2025 Annual Meeting, the Program Committee can better accept and accommodate full-panel submissions.
