LGBTQ+ Music Study Group Virtual Symposium 2024
You are warmly invited to the fifth symposium of the LGBTQ+ Music Study Group, an international non-profit organization dedicated to supporting folks who identify under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella as well as those who research queer themes in music.
The symposium, “Caring Amidst Neoliberalism: History, Solidarity, Desire” will take place virtually on 16, 17, 19, 20 October 2024. In addition to queer performances you will not want to miss and paper presentations spanning topics from non-binary and trans identity to expansions of Suzanne Cusick’s vision of sex as music, the Symposium will hold a roundtable of gender-non-conforming and transitioning music professionals to discuss transitioning mid- to late-career, a panel of in-progress research, and one panel of invited speakers to discuss ways our (queer academic) community can express Palestinian solidarity.
You may access information about the group and the symposium program here. All times are in Eastern Standard Time (EST). Attendance is free, however, advance registration is required here. Once you register, you will receive Zoom links to access the events.
If you have any questions, please email: lgbtqmusicsg@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you virtually in October!
