The New York Metro Regional Chapter of the American Studies Association (NYMASA) is an active and vibrant member of the American studies community in the New York City area. We maintain an active list serve and sponsor a diverse roster of activities: an annual one-day conference organized around a specific theme; monthly Salon Talks, which give scholars an opportunity to discuss their recently-published books in an intimate setting; panel discussions; a brunch each Spring for members to meet and socialize. We’ve also partnered with academic institutions around the city to organize weeklong summer institutes for scholars, activists, and artists. 

NYMASA covers the five boroughs as well as Long Island and surrounding counties in New Jersey and New York state.
