We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Studies Association, taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico November 20-22 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center!

For the first time since 2017, we’ve adjusted our registration fee structure in response to inflation and rising costs. These changes reflect our ongoing effort to balance sustainability with accessibility—to care for the collective needs of our community while keeping the meeting as inclusive as possible.

This year’s registration follows a household income-based sliding scale. We invite you to select the tier that best reflects your circumstances. If you have access to generational wealth or institutional resources, please consider registering at a higher tier to help offset costs for others. Your generosity helps ensure that this space remains open and equitable for everyone.

Household Income – Sliding Scale Registration

• Tier 1: Over $150,000 – $375
• Tier 2: $100,000–$149,999 – $330
• Tier 3: $50,000–$99,999 – $250
• Tier 4: Under $50,000 – $100 

A quick note on receipts...

Standard registration receipts will reflect the amount paid (e.g., “Conference Registration: $330”) but won’t indicate the tier you selected. If you need a receipt that includes your registration tier, feel free to reach out to us at asastaff@theasa.net—we’re happy to provide a custom invoice.
