The 2019 Election for the American Studies Association is now open for voting by active members.

This year, there are 18 candidates running for one of four positions: president, national council, student councilor, and nominating committee. For your consideration, each candidate has prepared a statement and biography, which you can view online under each position.

To vote, please log-in to the ASA website. Once logged in, you’ll see a button to “vote now” that links you to the election site. (If you do not see the “vote now” button, click the orange “my membership” button in the upper righthand corner to reach the main member page.)  After you cast each vote, you will be prompted to confirm your vote and then returned to the main election page to cast any remaining votes. If you wish to change your vote, you can do so by returning to the main election page at any point within the election period.

Please note, voting will close on March 1, 2019.

If you haven’t renewed your membership, we encourage you to renew now. Expired ASA members will be able to review the candidates nominated for each position but will be ineligible to vote. Renewing today also allows you to submit a proposal for the 2019 Honolulu Annual Meeting, as well as other benefits of membership.
