As part of the ASA’s continued efforts to make our conference more accessible, we are happy to announce the option of professional, onsite childcare for participants with dependents between the ages of 6 months to 12 years old. For this year’s conference, the ASA is partnering with Accent on Children’s Arrangements, a New Orleans-based, licensed and bonded provider that specializes in childcare for major events like the ASA annual meeting.
Our childcare center will function like a kids’ day camp with arts & crafts projects, active games, music, storytelling, dramatic play, and much more taking place in decorated rooms. Scheduled activities will take place at the Hilton Riverside in close proximity to all conference events. Care will be available throughout the conference during all regular session hours, including plenary events.
ACCENT on Children’s Arrangements, Inc. is dedicated to providing:
- Age-appropriate, curriculum-enriched environments containing hands-on, creative activities
- Stimulation programs on-site with scrupulous attention to children’s health and safety
- CPR and Pediatric First Aid certified supervisors
- Complete infant care stations, including changing pads, wipes, gloves, and disinfectant
- Security procedures for check-in and check-out
Similar to 2019, the ASA is subsidizing the cost of childcare for contingent staff/faculty, students, and participants with household incomes below $50,000. Combined with other programs, such as our Solidarity Fund and Baxter Graduate Student Fund travel grants, we hope this provides an additional avenue to facilitate greater and more equitable participation in our signature event.
Our ability to provide this service at future meetings is contingent on usage and support by ASA members. Late registration and walk-ups still available: Go to Churchill Room C1 (2nd Floor)
Full rate: $20/hour (with 4 consecutive hours minimum per day). $150 for full day
