Photo.
As part of the cultural legacy of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games, Catalan
artist Xavier Medina-Campeny created this permanent tribute to Martin
Luther King, Jr. which stands at the intersection of Boulevard and Freedom
Parkway, just to the north of the King Center and to the west of the
Jimmy Carter Library and Museum. In the background are the on-ramp to
I-75/85, the city's major artery, and the skyline of downtown Atlanta, visible
through the ubiquitous Atlanta smog. Photo taken by Shirley E. Thompson.
