The American Studies Association and the Hartford Resources Committee have arranged for off-site sessions, receptions, walking tours, and workshops that explore the conference theme through Hartford's unique character and history. Exploring the fine and performing arts, the natural and the built environments, literary and material culture, the politics of race, immigration and ethnicity, and urban development, the following events combine to provide insight into Hartford's rich colonial and nineteenth-century heritage, and its dynamic, multiethnic present. Please join us in the evenings for readings, performances, and dancing to the hottest salsa band in New England!
Throughout the program, these and other related sessions will be marked with a special icon: *.
ASA conferees can choose from among the following events. Unless otherwise stated, registration and ticketing will be handled through the ASA.
