Membership includes subscriptions to American Quarterly, the Encyclopedia of American Studies Online, the Guide to American Studies Resources Online, and to the ASA Newsletter (quarterly publication). Membership also includes discounts on association services and publications.

Additional information about the institutional services and publications programs of the American Studies Association, including the Guide for the Review of American Studies Programs, the Directory of Graduate Programs in American Studies, Dissertation Abstracts, and other resources is available at:

ASA members help to insure the continuity, development, and enhanced usefulness of a dynamic, professional, scholarly organization, now now numbering 140 institutions and nearly 6,000 members (and growing), dedicated to broadening and intensifying the study of American culture, history, and society.

Institutional dues are $165 payable annually in July. A list of institutional members is published in each issue of the American Quarterly, the Guide to American Studies Resources, and the annual meeting Program.

Institutional members help to insure the continuity, development, and enhanced usefulness of a dynamic, professional, scholarly organization dedicated to broadening and intensifying the study of American life and civilization. They help to promote interdisciplinary activity and programs, working toward the lowering of rigid barriers of approach and technique, and the cooperation of scholars in various disciplines in a vital, international field of study. Institutional members also help to stimulate intellectual and professional activity among their own faculty.

We depend on institutional dues to carry on many of our current activities and to develop new programs and services. You can help us by making sure your institution or program becomes an institutional member.

Membership may be obtained by calling Natalie Garrity at the Johns Hopkins University Press at (410) 516-6945.
