Pruitt, Mary C. "‘Women Unite!’: The Modern Women’s Movement in Minnesota," University of Minnesota, December 1986.

My topic is the Modern Women’s Movement as built by feminist activists in Minnesota from 1910 to the mid 1970s. In the suffrage era and in the 1960s and 1970s both the moderate mainstream and the radical militant camps of the Women’s Movement were necessary for advancement of feminist issues in the public consciousness and in the public policy arena. The study is based on archival research and oral history interviews with 48 women and 4 men.
