Yu, Li-hua. "Chinese Immigrants in Idaho," Bowling Green State University, January 1991. Advisor: William E. Grant

This dissertation examines the role early Chinese immigrants played in the development of Idaho during its growth from a mining territory to a modern state (1865-1910). It reviews Chinese mining enterprises in four major areas of Idaho: the north central mining camps, the Boise Basin, the Wood River valley mining field, and the Coeur d’Alene area in Northern Idaho. Sources include early Idaho newspapers, interviews, government and legal documents, accounts and stories by local writers, archeological facts, the chinese collection owned by the Idaho State Historical society and secondary resources of scholarly written books and articles about the chinese experience in California and other Northwestern states.
