This just in:  CRITOPH PRIZE results!

2013 Critoph Prize: Daegan Miller, “Re-Placing John Brown: Utopian Agrarianism and Black Pioneers in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains, 1846-1859.”
Dr. Miller received his PhD in History from Cornell University in 2013 and is now an A.W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Humanities, in the History Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

2013 Honorable Mention: Amy King, Department of English, University of Mississippi, “Rape between Women as Social Policing in Valerie Martin’s _Property_”

2013 Honorable Mention: Regis Mann, Department of English, University of California, Riverside, “_Behind the Scenes_ of Emancipation: Race, Ritual, and the Reconstitution of the Antebellum Order”
