Kentucky-Tennessee Chapter

KTASA serves the states, not surprisingly, of Kentucky and Tennessee. It seeks to support and foster the study of the history, society, and culture of the region; to bring those interested in the region together to explore its dynamics; and to encourage interdisciplinary research, publication and teaching. Members of the chapters include college and university faculty at all ranks; undergraduate and graduate students; secondary school teachers; public historians; and librarians, archivists, and curators. ASA members residing in the region are automatically KTASA members, and members of the ASA from outside the region are welcome to join the chapter. Interested parties unaffiliated with the ASA may join the KTASA directly.

KTASA publishes Border States biennially, and a newsletter annually. Each spring the chapter hosts a two-day conference, generally at a nice resort central to the region.

Triennially, the KTASA awards the Richard Beale Davis—William Berge Book Prize for the monograph published during the period that best illuminates the history, society, and culture of our region.
