The California American Studies Association (CASA) was created in 1982, when the northern and southern California ASA chapters were combined.
Annual three-day conferences were held every spring from 1983 to 2003, addressing focused topics and drawing presenters and attendees not only from California but from other regions.
After a five-year hiatus, a small group of veteran and new members revived the association and held a conference in 2008 at Soka University of America. In 2009 we met at UC Santa Barbara. The 2010 conference was held at CSU-Long Beach April 16-17.
All information regarding the California American Studies Association and its annual conferences can be found at CASA’s website.
