The Caucus held an informal meeting at ASA this year, and we probably had fifteen people come by and offer suggestions forpanels for next year.
This year, ASA only hosted four panels on Religion, and I only received two submissions for the paper prize, which means the prize
was not awarded.
For the ASA 2011 (in Baltimore, Maryland),I am
hoping to flood the program committee with the panels on religion. The goal is to submit a wide variety of panels on religion and other topics that might be interesting for the ASA.
One of the suggestions from the meeting was to propose panels onteaching and meta-narrative, which seem to be well-attended and
popular.
If any of these topics are of interest to the Caucus members, please feel free to email Kelly Baker, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), with suggestions.
