CONGRATS to latest recipient, FLIEGELMAN PRIZE FOR MENTORING AWARD

“The ASECS Graduate Student Caucus is pleased to recognize ELIZABETH MADDOCK DILLON as the recipient of this year’s Jay Fliegelman Excellence in Mentorship Award.  Elizabeth is Associate Professor of English at Northeastern University and the author of The Gender of Freedom: Fictions of Liberalism and the Literary Public Sphere. She has another book, New World Drama: Theatre of the Atlantic, 1660-1850, forthcoming from Duke University Press.  The letters on her behalf were incredibly strong, emphasizing her openness to a wide variety of projects, her passion for teaching and scholarship, and her generosity with her time.  Elizabeth has united graduate students from across the country through her work with the Futures of American Studies Institute and has remained engaged with students she has mentored at other institutions. Her students and colleagues view her as a model of interdisciplinary scholarship and praise her commitment to the well-being of this profession. It is our privilege to recognize her mentorship efforts at the 2011ASECS Annual Meeting.”

Hear hear!  This honor bears the name of quite the legendary mentor and role model, so on that note, Prof. Dillon,

   CONGRATS!
